PTP Honors Veterans By Supporting Wreaths Across America Organization

PTP is proud to participate in Wreaths Across America this holiday season by supporting its transportation arm. Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization with a primary goal of distributing wreaths for placement on the graves of veterans in military cemeteries across America.

We are proud to have one of our very own veteran drivers distributing wreaths to 14 different cemeteries, both national and state memorial cemeteries. These wreaths will be laid in honor of those who have served and fallen for our country. We are honored to play a key role in this meaningful initiative to remember and honor those who have made sacrifices to protect our freedoms.

   

About Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America is a nationwide initiative with more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather at cemeteries across the country to Remember, Honor and Teach about the sacrifices made by these veterans. Through programs like Meet the Heroes, volunteers can explore the personal stories of those who served – 4,596 posts have been shared so far. On December 14, National Wreaths Across America Day,  volunteers placed these wreaths at cemeteries across the country. As each wreath was placed, volunteers were encouraged to speak the veterans’ names aloud, thank them for their service and sacrifice and reflect on that person and their life. This initiative is meant to demonstrate that we will never forget their service and sacrifice to our country. The 2024 Theme is Live With Purpose.

“Over the last year, and then especially on the escort to Arlington last December, I listened to people who had gone through great adversity, and they’d taken that adversity and turned it around as a call to action to spend the rest of their lives making sure that every day was meaningful and that they lived with purpose,” said Karen Worcester, Executive Director of Wreaths Across America.

PTP’s Commitment to Wreaths Across America

PTP Transport is proud to play an integral role in supporting this organization that honors our veterans.

The driver chosen for this mission is a veteran himself, having served in the U.S. Army for many years. Over the past week, he delivered wreaths to various cemeteries, ensuring that his brothers and sisters in arms, would be honored.

“While this is our first year participating in Wreaths Across America, we hope this is a positive experience for our driver, and that it marks the beginning of an ongoing commitment for years to come,” said Ciarra Scheirer, PTP Transport Manager.

Through this partnership, PTP is not only providing reliable transportation for the organization but also contributing to a nationwide effort that remembers, honors and teaches future generations about the sacrifices made by veterans. This holiday season, PTP is dedicated to bringing communities together as a tribute to those who served.

There are many ways to get involved in this initiative alongside PTP. Volunteers can offer corporate support, support transportation, remember walls, lead a sponsorship group or coordinate a location.
