Rookies Turned into Experienced Truck Drivers

When it’s time to begin your truck driving career, PTP Transport understands experience is essential to growth in the trucking industry. We also understand, without opportunities to gain experience, the supply of qualified drivers will not increase. At PTP, we support and provide opportunities and advancements for drivers from the time they graduate from driving school to the time they reach the regional driver level.

Opportunities for New and Recent Graduates

We offer immediate opportunities for new graduates to become shuttle drivers for PTP Transport. PTP serves as the in-house transportation and logistics carrier for Young’s Plant Farm, located in Auburn, AL. Our shuttle drivers are responsible for transporting goods to and from the plant farm that our regional drivers then transport to their respective locations. Shuttle drivers gain hours on the road and are offered both in-town and interstate driving experience, without being thrown directly into a regional driving position. This is an opportunity for new graduates to gain experience before working their way up in the trucking industry.

Local Drivers

Once a shuttle driver has proven their responsibility and completed a set number of hours, they can move into a local driver position. Local drivers pick up or deliver goods within a 50-200 mile radius of PTP headquarters, with the ultimate goal of transporting goods back to the main yard. Local drivers could participate in our safety bonus program, while still gaining experience extending their driving areas, and further developing relationships. Once the driver has proven themselves in the local position, they can be promoted to a regional driving position.

Regional Drivers

Our regional drivers are offered competitive benefits in order to attract top-tier driving talent. PTP prioritizes family and family commitments. Our regional drivers spend time on the road and are offered home rests 2-3 times weekly. PTP drivers are offered competitive salaries, healthcare benefits, and above-average CPM and have the possibility of receiving dedicated or more predictable routes.
